The OvidDx program consists of 3 packages of several lessons each – Understanding Neural Circuit Disorders, Diagnosing Neural Circuit Disorders, and Treating Neural Circuit Disorders with and additional package for available for physical therapists, Neural Circuit Disorders for Physical Therapists. Each learning package is followed by a brief quiz for AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits.
Once you have completed the training program, you may progress to advance your professional training with the Certification Program consisting of approximately 20 hours of practical clinical instruction led by Alicia Batson MD and Howard Schubiner MD, specialists in treating Neural Circuit Conditions. These workshops allow a deeper dive into the skills necessary to diagnose and treat neural circuit conditions. The sessions review the latest relevant research, offer real patient case presentations, and Q&A with professionals treating these conditions. At part of the certification program, you will may participate in live quarterly Q&A with Dr. Schubiner and / or Dr. Batson.
After you complete the training and the certification process and workshops, you may then opt-in to be listed as an OvidDx-certified Neural Circuit Retraining Health Professional. Neural Circuit Retraining (NCR) is a specific form of therapy based in the three treatment arms for chronic primary pain – psycho-eduction to understand the psychosocial factors and neurophysiologic mechanisms causing the symptoms, cognitive and behavioral techniques to reframe the meaning of the pain and emotional processing techniques to address past trauma which may be driving the pain. The OvidDx certification program was purpose-built to provide health professionals with the requisite tools to improve patient outcomes with confidence.
